Mental health and substance abuse costs
The best way to get control of health care costs is to provide effective services that reduce or eliminate long-term costs. Assembly Member Jim Beall’s (Democrat, 24th Assembly District) AB 423 would do just that. By providing mental health and substance abuse coverage to health care plans, the cost of housing and caring for people with these problems would be greatly reduced.
